Between June 15-17, leading experts in Wraparound and care coordination will gather to learn new skills, examine and adopt practices that produce positive outcomes, and share ideas at the Partnerships for Well-Being Institute. Integration: The Path to Even Better Outcomes with Children and Families!
In this keynote presentation, John Vandenberg, co-founder of the Wraparound Process, will discuss the importance of sustaining partnerships between the community and child serving systems. The keynote will also address recent innovations with the Wraparound process, including how to address poverty, integrating primary medical care, and the use of youth and family members as key team members in system of care implementation.
Adolescence and Other Temporary Mental Disorders
Pat Friman, Ph.D., ABPP and vice president of behavioral health at Boys Town will discuss adolescent brain development and how it affects adolescent behavior. Friman will describe common examples of disorders related to adolescence, but use normative labels instead of psychiatric ones, and provide 10 behaviorally-oriented tips for dealing with adolescents who experience emotional distress.
